Hi!
I’m Jes, and I’m a Product Designer based in Brooklyn, NY.
I double-majored in Digital Media and Studio Art at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York.
After freelancing for a bit, I really began my career as one half of the in-house creative team at Wearsafe Labs, where I was mentored by the wonderful Kim Glooch, CD. There I worked on everything from branding to banner ads, before being dumped headlong into design for Wearsafe’s existing app, as well as a brand new suite of apps for T-Mobile. I promptly fell in love with Product Design.
After completing the new app at Wearsafe in 2018, I joined the tiny team at Public.com – known as “Matador” at the time – as their first in-house Product hire. I think I was the 10th employee, and the first woman. It has since been my absolute joy and privilege to help Public grow into the uplifting, diverse community it has become (both in the app and the office), working closely with Co-CEO Jannick Malling and the rest of the Product team to make the Public apps the best they can possibly be for our amazing community.
As a designer born and raised in startups, I’m forever in awe of the impact I’ve been able to have on awesome products like Public, and watching or hearing about people using and loving those products is one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever encountered.
When I’m not working, I’m on long walks in Prospect Park listening to epic fantasy novels, eating Chinese food, or doodling weird portraits of my dog.
